Default My first website

Okay, I held my breath, squeezed my eyes tight and jumped in--felt kind of like jumping into the deep end of the pool for the first time when I was a little kid--a little scary. So now I have set up my first website--I only have a few photos up and haven't decided if I'll activate the journal page... The site is customizable, but I went with the dark background (dark and light colored backgrounds are offered as standard) and a simple, clean look. I haven't decided if I'll keep several galleries organized by subject or just go with one big gallery and mix everything up. Anyways, if anyone is interested, please take a look and let me know what you think.

Looks great so far. Keep adding to it. I like the dark background.

It's got a nice clean look. No distracting stuff and logically laid out. Nice! There is one typo on the "about" page. In the last line, it currently says something about please visit out gallery at pbase.
Keep adding photos! I know from experience, it's tough to know what photos to add and how to arrange them. I let that stop me for too long.

So much great photography, and so little time today! Even with a high speed connection it must take a long time to see everything. On dial-up the slide show images on the home page don't have time to download at full quality before moving on to the next photo. Otherwise, after a brief visit, it looks like a good site.

Thanks everyone for the feedback! It's definitely a work in progress. Thanks, Bethe for pointing out the typo--I missed that one even after reading it quite a few times.

The slow load time is no good! I'll resize the files to smaller ones and reload to see if that helps. They all load fine on my computer, but I could see how it would be a problem for others. I appreciate you pointing that out, Jim.

Fred and I are off to the Vancouver vicinity for my niece's wedding this weekend. I'll work on the site when we get back.
