Dogwood Park I

Enroute to Rainier for another daytrip, I took the Eatonville cutoff to go by this viewpoint. Years ago (20-35) you used to take your life in your hands by pulling over to shoot this scene. Back then there was a great old barn that made a wonderful foreground element.....but alas, some things get better and others don't....it collapsed. The good news is that the local populace lobbied for funds to create a little wayside park, part Veterans memorial, part flower garden (ie Dogwood), and part highway safety....a good idea.

Mt Rainier is approximately 25 miles away here.

Nice view of the Mt from that location. I'll have to visit your side of the state one of these days.
Shutterman, haphazardly making photos and enjoying it!
