IR Rebecca BW

IR Rebecca BW

The same file as 'IR Rebecca', reprocessed from the RAW file as a monochrome in DPP, in response to Barbara's comment. I don't think the kind of color IR that the digital sensor produces is conducive to a pleasant skin tone, though the smoothness is really nice. (Bex has a smattering of freckles across her nose; invisible here.)

Thanks Barbara. This was literally the first time I'd shot a human with this camera, having only had it for a month now, and I wasn't too sure about the color effect of the IR in this case. I also didn't make a custom white balance for the scene, I was using one from a few days earlier. (I've noticed I get better results when I reset the WB for the light I' currently working under.)

But the IR does wonderful things to the skin tone, since it's recording heat, rather than tone.
