This pumping station was the former headquarters of the Brooklyn Waterworks, the 1800's company that supplied the city of Brooklyn with water from the Long Island aquifers.

Neat subject. I love the arches. It works pretty well in IR, too. I'd have gotten a little closer so the pole wasn't sticking out the top, though. But that's a minor quibble.

I did try it closer, but this was with a 17-40 lens on the Rebel, so I couldn't keep the entire building in the composition, which was more important to me, since I can always clone out the pole.

What's really neat about IR is finding otherwise mundane scenes that take on new lives when you remove the visible spectrum.
