Tom Administrator Registered: March 2004 Location: Calgary, Canada Posts: 1,386 users gallery	I took this shot on January 27th, 2007 on a snowshoe hike that I went on in Kananaskis. It was a beautiful winter day with the temperature hovering between -10C an -15C. I used to use RSP to convert my raw files but now I have to use ACR in Photoshop because RSP doesn't support my Canon Rebel XTi. I'm still new to this so it was a bit of a struggle to get what I wanted out of this. I would really appreciate any and all feedback on both the creative and technical aspects in this shot. Not only was I using software I'm not too familiar with, the day I shot this I was having a hard time "seeing" interesting compositions. Just one of those days I guess.

Techically the picture looks good to me. As for composition, I think you arranged the trees nicely throughout the frame, but really, when you have a sky like that who cares about anything else! Nice job!

"...I was having a hard time "seeing" interesting compositions." This is what happens when one lives so near and frequently visits areas known for their drop dead beauty. I'm afraid the only cure for this 'disorder' is to move far, far away and allow your system a clean break from all intoxicating beauty. Only after your system has had a sustained period free from said stimulus, will it again respond in a natural, spontaneous manner when said beauty is again encountered.

Gorgeous scenic, Tom. Love everything about this!! Exposure--from the snow to the darkest shadows in the trees is perfect. Killer sky!!
ACR takes some getting used to--I'm just learning it too. The more I use it, the more I like it. I've never used RSP, so I have no idea how it compares.
