We have winter at last! And I am not very happy about the fact.
To Fred – no, I did not use a tripod. I don’t like being too conspicuous. Take a tripod, 70-200 VR with hood and you sure get too much attention. No, my style is to be minimalistic. With Autopano, PTGui there’s no need for an even horizon. You may take one shot horizontal, other vertical or even diagonal.
And I was very pleased to know there are other countries with photophobia. Yes, inside the Kremlin, on the Red Square, near the Kremlin in the so called Aleksander’s Gardens tripod photography is prohibited. I have a press card and a paper which says I am doing photography for a documentary (I am not but it’s worth to have it!). Well, times are hard here when trying to do big camera shooting outside of tourist areas. People just don’t understand such activity. Phone camera, point & shooter is OK, but take a SLR and you have problems.

You still have less snow that we do. Dang! So you do use an SLR though. I mean, the D200 is no point & shoot. Thanks for replying to my nosy questions.
