Good photojournalistic photo. I would've moved to the right to get the firetruck on the left out and get more of the building that is on fire. But I know this may have been hard to do from experience. Here in NYC if you do not have a press pass (after the police show up) you don't have full access. The firefighters do not care if you are around the equipment taking pictures because usually they want copies of the photos. The only problem is when the cops come.

I would have liked to see the point of contact where the water hits a ltiile bit further down (The Rule of Thirds) but besides that, nice capture. :d

There's always something about watching a fire....
I think it would have made a better vertical photo - to include more of the smoke as it would have gone better with yoour title. But I guess like Bicpm said, you would have had to move or possibly use a wider 'view'.

I like it a lot, it shows the fireman at work and you catch the water going in through the window perfectly.
