I like how you composed this--you've captured a personal/introspective moment as Josh pointed out. Did you shoot this in B&W or convert it in Photoshop? The tones look flat: the full range of tones from pure white to pure black isn't present. Unfortunately the highlights are overexposed and there is no true black. Can't fix the first problem, but it's easy to fix the second in levels. In levels, click on the 'set black' eye dropper after you've pulled up the info window. Watching the numbers in the info box, move the eye dropper around to find the area closest to '0' which in this case is under her chin, nearest the right edge. Click on that area with the eye dropper and this will change the value to '0' and a true black. I'm not familiar with your camera--hopefully it has a histogram which you can check to make sure you haven't clipped the highlights. Same with shooting modes: if it has the option of capturing an image in B&W, I understand it's better to capture images in color then convert them to B&W in PS or other image processing program. Hope this helps.
