A friend of mine was looking for pictures of tepees. I found this one in my "archive" from the fall of 2004. I had totally forgot about it.

Where was this taken? This is gorgeous and it reminds me of where I live in Colorado, near the Rockies. Its so beautiful.

Thanks Fiona. This was shot in eastern British Columbia about 150km up a gravel logging road from the trans-canada highway.

Terrific capture! Love the moody sky and composition. The smattering of gold on the mountain says this was taken in the fall--but what month, beginning? end? I'd love to get back to Banff/Jasper and also visit Kananaskis/Canmore in the fall when the aspen/alder/cottonwoods are at their peak color. The last time we visited the area was in the fall, but we were too early and the trees were only just starting to turn color.
Not only is this a terrific shot of a teepee--your friend will love it--but its surroundings are outstanding. Only time I've seen teepees it seems they are at tourist traps or RV parks. 150km up a gravel logging road seems a long way to go--you must have known there would be a jewel or jewels to reward you for such an adventure.

Thanks Barbara! This shot was taken on the Thanksgiving Day long weekend a couple years back. I went there for a camping and Czech folk and country music get-together. it was pretty cool - everyone sat around a huge camp fire and played guitars and banjo's and singing.

The next time you guys come to Alberta - Canmore/Kananaskis and if you want, let me know and I'll go out shooting with you. I'll show you my not so secret spots.
