This of course is the cake cutting...there are tons of other "traditional" type shots I can post but this'll probably be it since I don't want to clutter the gallery.

This is good but I think a tighter crop would be better, something that includes the two of them, the knife and as much of the cake as possible but nothing more.

I agree, if you cut out a lot of the table, the picture would be a lot stronger.

Those vines are really distracting, but the rest is perfect!!!

yup, agree, excellent overall, but a lot of empty space along the right side and top.

(mom, you're not supposed to leave comments...when you do, they come up looking like I left them...to myself...)

Anyway, no one knows this because you haven't seen any of the other pictures, but a common theme with ALL of the shots from the wedding are that they are quite wide. I usually get fussed for being too close up, so I've been working on my wide shots. Granted that maybe you think this one is too wide, but wide works for atleast 90% of them much better than if I would have did it way too tight.

Anyway, I do have another shot from a much different angle, and its more distracting because "the best" angle, had a lot more clutter in the background. Anyway, I do appriciate the critique, I'll do differently next time...but one of the tough parts about shooting a wedding is that things happen really fast. thanks again...by the way, erica if you read any of this, they don't mean harm - its just for giving me tips

I agree with topcat, Rookie, and mom. You don't have to wait til next time to crop this shot a little. Don't take this suggestion as a negative criticism, it is intended to help this shot. It is a wonderful moment for the happy couple, and they do indeed look happy here. You've done a good job at capturing this moment.
