Found this log cabin when visiting McConnells Mills in western Pennsylvania. The color version just did not pop for me so I played around and made a bunch of adjustments in black & white...this is what I ended up with...

It looks rather dreamy 2 me Jen. Overall, I like it, but I'm still thinking about that large hot spot by the chimney. The smaller hot spots enhance the dream like feeling 4 me. I don't know if it would work or not, but I kinda wonder what a soft/diffusion filter would do to this shot?

nice tone and i like the soft feel of this but i wish you got on the other side of the tree that runs in front of the porch. it cuts off the right side of the photo to me and makes the comp. seem weaker. other than that i really like it.

I couldn't get away from those trees! This cabin was right on the corner of two roads with a slope in front. I could only shoot from the road and no matter where I stood there were trees.
Yes, there is a hot spot by the chimney - there was direct sunlight shining right there and unfortunately it's way too bright to fix.
As for the diffusion filter...I might try that on another similar shot and compare.
Thank you for your comments.

It almost has an IR quality to it. Very nice!
