Very cool! I'm not familiar with Minotaur rockets. Why all the weaving?

Thanks W-guy! The minotaur rocket was launched from Vandenberg AFB last night carrying a 920lb "Streak" payload (so named because of the way it streaks through the air). It was carrying a military research satellite that will stay in orbit for about a year.

I took the photos first, and did the research after!

Yes, a very cool shot...and interesting to know the story behind it.
Thanks for posting!

Thanks for the great comments everyone!

This shot was taken at f/2.8 for 8 seconds.

The "light show" caught me off guard - I walked out my door and there it was. Grabbed the camera and just started playing with the exposure. Did the research the next day to find out what it was. Hah - found out people all over SoCal were calling around trying to find out what it was; all I cared about was getting the photo!
