Great capture! I've been trying forever to get close to these birds...guess I need a bigger lens :-)

Thanks for the comment. I am not sure it is the lens. I too have tried these birds for years. This one sat there for almost three seconds. Right place right time. Good luck

So tough to find an indigo bunting, much less get a great shot of one! They're so pretty (my favorite color is blue) and this shows it off.

There are indigo buntings all around here where I live. I can't shoot them with my lens unless it would land and perch within 10 feet of me. They don't sit still very long. My favs are the indigo buntings and scarlet tanagers. The tanager has a beautiful song...and is even harder to photograph.
