I almost feel safe viewing this scene from behind those trees. I know it's not really any safer--it just seems that way, lol. Isn't it interesting that the multiple lightning bursts have created multiple exposures of the tree's leaves, and thus an illusion of a shadow being cast upon the sky is created by the wind moving the foliage between bursts. I hope that there weren't any tornadoes accompanying this storm.

Exposure is right on. I like the clarity of the main flash, and the visibility of the weaker ones. Maybe another tornado will eliminate that big tree that gets in the way of lightning shots.

Actually this storm did produce a tornado, but way west of me.
THe wind was moving the leaves of the trees. This was actually taken from my dining room window. I was not having the best of luck. My dining room has 5 floor to ceiling windowns (they were actually sliding glass windows that we made into a wall. ANYWAY, I would get all set up in one window for lightning, but it would not cooperate. There would be a ton of strikes out of a different window. So I would move to shoot out that window, and where i was, there were huge strikes, but not in the window I was shooting thru. It was a little annoying! hahaha!
Gotta love the spring/summer storms on the midwest.
thanks for the comments.

Almighty and most merciful Father, we humbly beseech Thee, of Thy great goodness, to restrain these immoderate rains with which we have had to contend. Grant us fair weather for Battle. Graciously hearken to us as soldiers who call Thee that, armed with Thy power, we may advance from victory to victory, and crush the oppression and wickedness of our enemies, and establish Thy justice among men and nations. Amen."
