From a portrait session today. I've never done anything like this before so any constructive criticism and comments welcome. I looked all over the web to get ideas on camera settings but no one lists exif data and I could find very little to compare results with as far as photos people of color. These have very little PP so advise there is welcome also. Todd Shaak--you are a lifesaver. I couldn't believe how much difference the reflectors made!

Hi Angie,
You are doing some really fine work in model photography. I am not a model photographer but still I think I can comment a little bit. The lighting is very good and also the fact that you have chosen to concentrate on her face at the same angle in each of the three images with just a bit of her upper body included. This image and the one against the brick are clear and uncluttered. The first one is lovely but the background is a little too distracting, at least for me. In this image I would be tempted to either exclude altogether her fingers in the lower left section of the image or else include more of her hand there. I'd suggest also erasing somehow what I assume is her right hand just above her head. I hope you get a chance to do more model photography --- I'll be looking forward to seeing it.

I tried to post the edited result with the fingers cloned out and the sweater toned down but it doesn't seem to stick when I upload-any ideas on that mods? I also did a little smoothing on her face. Thanks for the suggestions I think they were all improvements.

Hi Angie,
Interesting that the thumbnail still shows the fingers in the image but when I clicked on the image to enlarge it here the fingers no longer show. It's a lovely photograph and I'm sure Kat will really like it.

Now it's OK. When I tried to repost an edited version of an image of mine recently, it took a bit of time before the corrected version actually appeared in the gallery. Now yours is the edited version in both the thumbnail and enlarged image. That's great.
