Excellent product shot, Val. This is first class all the way.

Both these shots are excellent and I notice they are made with your 60 mm micro lens. The detail is so clear, even of the textured finish on the lens (barrel?). And I know someone else who has the VR Nikkor 70 - 200mm lens and loves it. What do you think of that lens?

Indeed, it's worth the praises told about it. Very sharp, even at 2.8, and VR works fine. One can take shots at 200 mm handheld at 1/30 s and be sure it's OK. But... it's too big, it's too heavy, it's too long, it's too conspisious. Put it on, and you are a pro (in the eyes of onlookers). With me most of the time it rests peacefully at home. Just I am not into that type of shooting. I take it out only from time to time when I have to shoot something very far away and be sure it's sharp. If it's people in the streets you want to shoot I'd recommend Nikkor 18-200 VR. It's light, short, versatile, inconspicious and ... sharp. And you are still amateur in the eyes of your targets. They wont be intimidated by that pro looking looooong piece of lens. You'll take more good shots. And it's handy to have all the range of focal legnths from 18 to 200 at one turn. And a camera + 18-200 lens can be carried by one hand for hours.
