The first in a series of close-up portraits. I had no idea they would be her last. She lost her battle with Feline CRF on Tuesday Sept 2, 2008. She was named after the cereal because of her cocoa brown coloring and her long silky hair. Cocoa was a shelter rescue and had many characteristics and personality traits of a Maine Coon. Maine Coons tend to be very smart cats. I had no idea that her final lesson to me, was the effectiveness of exposure bias. I accidentally had reset the bias to -2. I didn't realize this until I dumped the CF card. These turned out to be the best portraits I ever took of Cocoa. I still don't quite understand what its for and when it should be used but I know next time I need to photograph an animal with dark fur I should try backing off the exposure bias.
