Interesting composition. Don't know that I've ever seen a blossom protruding out so far.....not that I see a lot of cacti blooms in the PNW!!! It does look a bit "hot" in a couple of spots, particularly on the tips of the bloom. If this is the same bloom as the other, I like its exposure much better.

I like how you lit this and how the black background allows the cactus to pop so beautifully. A wonderful capture of this unusual cactus blossom. I agree with Russ about there being a couple of hot spots on the petals--I probably wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't seen the other photo first, though.
