For Ann because she likes the way we spell colour or maybe she doesn't. Either way.

I like the colour version myself
The red building pops with the blue sky and clouds in the back.

Thanks, J. Perhaps, that is why I uploaded the B&W first. Colour contains so much more visual information. People are drawn to it like bees to honey. Maybe I should say...chimps to bananas.

I love all three! I am just starting to play with black and white myself. You really found a great sky that day colour or color or B&W

Thank you, Ann and ZoZo. It is all these converging and diverging lines that drew me to this, and the contrast. Converting to B&W was a bit tricky because of the red lighthouse. A red filter worked nice on the sky but made the lighthouse too light, so I used a green filter and blended the blue and red filters in Fred Miranda's BW Workflo Pro to get just the right amount of contrast.

Barbara,
Beautifully composed and exposed.
My only criticism is the keystoning caused by shooting up at 10mm. I'd love to see some perspective control done in Photoshop.
Otherwise a beautiful shot.

Truly awesome. This is the kind of shot that I aspire to get (the red barn shot against blue pt. cloudy sky.

John,

Thanks for the kind words.

For your barn shot, you will need a wider lens to get this effect. This was shot with a 10-22mm at 10mm (16mm equivalent). Your 18mm (or was it 17mm?) would be about a 28 or 29mm equivalent.
