Looks like you've caught him right in the middle of his lunch. Nice capture. I've never seen one of these fellas before. I don't see any noise--excellent quality at iso 800! When did you get the D300?

Low noise at higher ISO's is one of the reasons I was drooling over this camera. Since I drowned my D200 in december I have been living with a less than fully functional D100. My activity level is hard on my equipment. So when My D200 returned from Nikon all spiffy and new like, I was tourmented about what to do about my backup. As this trip aproached I just could not bear the thought of not having a fully functional backup. After all you never know when I might hit tree around forty miles an hour with my camera strapped to me. The D200 is still in need of a full inspection after this trip. It will be enbarrising if I have to send it back to Nikon again.
