I think it's called the missing man formation or something along those lines. It pays homage to those lost in battle.

beth, missing man is a 4 plane formation, the third pilot pulls up after just after the flyby. this shot is a 5 plane formation.

great shot & nice timing. you got the smoke texture just right too

Thanks, Barbara. I'm the artist of the month for March at a quirky little coffee house in Spokane: The Shop. I was scheduled for September but the owner called me to see if I could fill in this month. I had an "urban detail" theme planned but it wasn't ready. I decided to go with personal favorites from the past few years, which came to mind as I was going through my chimps gallery. The Shop is at theshop.bz but I don't know if I've been added to the "visual" section of the site. My pictures are a lot more interesting than my bio...
