Great shot. I love the detail in the flower, and the shadows and highlights around it. Beautiful colors, nice job. My only objection is having the flower right in the middle, but since its so close, theres not much else to do. www.davidgmillerphoto.com

This flower is very nicelly lit. Nice shadows and everything. Good overall image. The only thing is the bright leaf right under the flower.

I like the exposure on this, you nailed it IMO. My only problem is the composition, the green leaves are distracting to me. I also think this would have looked nice shot vertically.

Thanks for the comments. The horizontal format (I cropped this photo from the original one I took) and the distracting leaf could not be helped because of flower being surrounded VERY CLOSELY by so many other flowers. I personally also would have loved to see it in Vertical, if I could isolate it. But I agree with you all. I could remove these distractions with some magic with Photoshop but I would hate to remove what IS there. But then, maybe I will!!!

One additional comment, I've been dissapointed I that I can't snag a new D2H and I've been wanting one for so long. I didn't want the D70, but your photo has changed my apprehension about it, like I said before, the exposure and sharpness are killer.

Rookie, dont be disappointed. I also went through the phase just like you. Wanted to get a D1X but was not too sure about whether to spend this much money to get a 5 megapixel camera for what I do (just a hobby of taking pics). It took a lot of restraint on my part. I decided to experiment with the D 70 and it has NOT DISAPPOINTED ME at all! So I would say go for it! My next one in line about three years down the road would be a D3X!
