I was down on my stomach getting shots of the bikers making a 90 degree turn. Manually focusing on the edge of the grass really helped, and all I had to do was hold down the shutter button till the buffer filled up. The stock 18-55 comes in handy on the wide end for events like this!

The tight crop enhances the tension, imo. So if you were hit by a crashing cyclist would it be a badge of honor, or just good practice for when you start covering the NFL or NBA? Sports photography is a contact sport, right, lol.

The saturation is ok except for the red, IMO. I love the angle and comp.

Thanks for the comments, all. Sometimes just being a spectator can be a contact sport! I've gotten hit by just about everything except an out of control bike. 3 things that hurt the worst: field hockey balls, lax balls, & hockey pucks!!
