The Pacific Crest Trail (Mexico to Canada) crosses highway 410 at Chinook Pass (5432 ft) at the eastern boundary of Mt. Rainier NP. There is a beautiful loop trail there that I do at least annually, particularly during the wildflower season.
At the 1/2 way point and just after reentering the NP, you crest a ridge to see this.....sometimes clear, sometimes obscured, today partially clouded....but still wonderous!
