Letting the sun strike the front of the lens creates the distracting artifacts in the lower part of the picture and around the top of the opening. Except for that, it's an interesting composition.

Well the flare was on purpose. The other shots I got there where a bit bland. *shrugs*

Great composition. I disagree with Jim on this one. I like the flare here. Brings something to the photograph. Nice composition.
