I'm enjoying the tones and the peaceful mood this shot conveys. In reality I know those storms may not be very peaceful, but there is a reassurance here that I like if that makes sense.

Fred, actually, they were frozen - they were locked up I guess. At least, they weren't spinning. I notice that often at the wind farm. Not sure if they have to let the turbines cool down or how that works, but as windy as it was yesterday, they sure could have generated some power!
Most others were moving, but unfortunately, it started pouring down rain and lightning around, so I didn't want to mess with that and the camera.

Wow, that is one dramatic sky. I like the perspective, the windmills have an epic appreance to them. I tried cropping off a bit of the left side, so the front and rear windmills fall on the "third" lines, and it looked good. This composition looks good too.

In the pictures, it looks like the blads are 'feathered' meadning their leading edge is facing into the wind and the rest of the blade is parallel to the wind direction. This keeps the blades from spinning in the wind. One thing about the giant windmills, they are designed for certain wind speeds. Too much wind will actually destroy them. They will actually use varying degrees of pitch to ramp up power or lower it down based on the needs of the grid or to compensate for the danger of over spinning.
Nice shot, I love it.
