From 7:05 PM to 7:35 I took 40 shots of this buck after it spent the 1st 15 minutes at further range until it got comfortable w/ me as a non threat and then ambled fairly close as it chowed on the lush greenery.
This is in Edith Basin in the Paradise Valley of Mt. Rainier NP, several hundred yards from the lodge.....and I had the place TOTALLY to myself on a Saturday evening, probably due to a fairly persistent light rain.

Several years ago at Salt Fork State Park in Ohio I was able to get within about 10 yards of a buck near the lodge parking lot. I snapped nearly 30 pictures, only to discover when I got home that there was no film in the camera.
