Heading out of town on my recent vacation to Glacier, Yellowstone, and Tetons I traveled thru eastern WA, aka the Inland Empire or Palouse country.
Crossing the mighty Columbia River at Vantage, WA looking from the eastern shore to the SW. A few miles further is the world reknown natural amphitheatre known as The Gorge.

The light beautifully sculpts the weathered hills. Beautifully composed shot. Wonderful light and sky. Seems like it's either night or raining/foggy anytime we've driven this way--a view most definately worth stopping for if you get the right conditions, lol.

In recent years photographers have "discovered" the area between the Cascades and the Palouse. I guess everybody's tired of seeing Mt. Rainier and Steptoe Butte views (Palouse) as standard WA calendar photos. Love your Vantage shots; I also tend to have weather/lighting problems when I'm passing through.
