Enjoyed a warm, sunny day hike in the "Gloss Mountains" of western Oklahoma. By traditional "mountain" standards, these are more red bluff mesas. The name "Gloss, or Glass" comes from the selanite / gypsum on top of these hills. History has it that this used to be the old sea bed before the Rockies pushed up and the oceans drained east. Not sure on all that, but a really fascinating geological area to explore. I little on the hot side, but still, an enjoyable walk and of course, had the camera with me for a few shots.

Stunning landscape and you've captured it beautifully! Would you consider a small crop off the top to remove that cute, but slightly distracting cloud--I think the comp is stronger without it. Those sunflowers (?) look like they'd make wonderful foreground elements--any chance you got closer and took advantage of them?
Beautiful color. I'd love to visit this area sometime. How hot was it?

I'll work on the crop. And yes, it was H O T !!! About 106 on top of the hills, only 98 down lower. ;-)
Took many more photos, some with the sunflowers in the foreground, but one thing I kept having trouble with was BEES! Everywhere, it was like the killer bees were on a swarm or something. Every time I would step out of the truck, they would come at me!
