..and I'm glad you did. Sorry you deleted the other photo of the child...I meant to comment on it but didn't have the time until it was too late. (It's a wonderful portrait and the oof areas around were an unusual, and totally neat treatment--did you do it in post processing, use a lens baby, or what?)
Your hummingbird image is gorgeous--the OOF background is a wonderful backdrop for the sharp body of the hummer and those ethereal wings so perfectly demonstrate the extreme speed at which the little bird is flapping them. You even managed to capture a small catchlight in its eye. Wonderful capture, Rick!

I didn't see this comment until I was going thru July's posts.... You must have been quick to see it, unless you have special mod powers I uploaded it and but didn't like how the colour looked on-line at all. I took it off so quick I didn't think anyone would have a chance to see it.
To answer your question, yes. It had a heavy dose of PS. At the time I was learning a lot of Scott Kelby's techniques and use it as my lesson.
This whole thing is what sparked my line of questions about calibrating my monitor....
