Whoa, that's a big image/file! Nice shot--I like how you focused on the center of the flower--maybe a tad more DOF to include the petals closest to the camera in the apparent zone of sharpness...? I do like it this way--just wondering if I'd like it better with those front petals in focus too. The red channel is clipped causing parts of the petals to have loss of detail--not sure how one avoids this except with maybe a little less exposure--I'm sure Beth would know. What kind of lighting did you have when you shot this?

I used available light, daylight outdoors. did not do much PS work on this one, sharpened it and added a tad of black to the detail.
If I ever get this file size down I will be "in there."

Barbara, I think the loss of detail is prolly due to the glossy leaves reflecting a lil too much light, perhaps they are a lil hot? and the centers of the leaves are naturaly more colorful than the outer edges, actually as I remember they were like 3 rings of color to them gradually getting lighter closer to the edges. I'm always open for suggestions. thanks everyone! suggestions are always welcomed here. thanks again
