Beautuful!!! I like the softness around the edge of the flower. Did you PS that or is that how you took it?

Todd, Yes, PS. Here's pretty much what I did:
1. Use the magnetic lasso tool and set the feather to (I think) 5. I've been experimenting with different settings for the feather, but I think it was 5.
2. Layer-New-Layer via copy to put the flower on its own layer.
3. Use the clone tool to fill in any part of the blossom that got lost in the process. Clone from the original layer to the copied layer (if you need more info about how to do that let me know).
4. Also use the erase tool (soft edge) to get rid of anything that didn't get clipped that should have gotten clipped.
5. Drag the flower layer onto my "Ready for Flower" file that is already set up as a square with the black layer. It's just a matter of making sure the flower is the right size. Transform will handle that, or, you can resize the flower before dragging it.
Now I hope I have not totally confused you.
After you are satisfied with the size of the flower on the black layer, there are other little things that can be done with blending (drop shadow, etc.), but you can experiment and see what grabs you in that area.
Enjoy ~Beverly

Wonderful series, Beverly. I like Ned's idea of grouping them together--maybe with a very thin border between, quilt-like? Thanks for sharing your workflow--I've never tried doing this before and would like to try it sometime.
