Oh wanted to ask if you would recommend one over the other of these egret images for a club contest? Or just scrap them both. I personally like them both.

Gee, tough call. Both have aspects that I like. The other one is very good and features the eyes of both predator and prey. This one seems to emphasize the anatomy of the egret in a way that I have not seen before.
I do find the dark splotches in the water a bit distracting (was it raining?). Maybe go with the other one.
Those dark spots. I was about to say they were bubbles foating away. But I do recall seeing some surface bugs. So I guess it could be either or both???? It for sure was not raining this was a great day with lots of nice light. It was late in the day and the sun was getting low fast. At least to low for me.
