I was playing around in CS3 and tried the B&W converter along with a little tweaking these are what I came up with

The CS3 Beta has a black and white conversion button in the adjustment pallette http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitle...bs%5Fphotoshop here is a link to the free beta download.
